Fundraising
Various fundraising projects throughout the year provide the resources
necessary for the continued financial stability and growth of the
Co-op. A portion of these funds is earmarked for operating expenses.
This practice allows tuition rates to stay competitive while
maintaining a level of staff salary commensurate with the high quality,
experience, and commitment of our staff. Extra income also allows us to
offer financial aid to families in need, make improvements on classroom
and playground equipment, and meet unexpected needs as they arise.
Because income from yearly fundraising events is vital to the Co-op, all
families are required to participate in the Co-op’s two major
fundraisers. In addition to raising needed revenue, they also give us
the opportunity to work (and sometimes play) together for the benefit
of our school and children, give back to the community, publicize the
Co-op, and demonstrate cooperative behavior to our children. This year
our primary fundraiser is a silent auction. This spring we will have
our traditional school-wide fair. Families can support these events in
a variety of ways, and more information will be provided several weeks
or months before the fundraising events.
In addition to the two major fundraisers, their are a variety of other ways to help raise money for our school throughout the year. These may include:
- A percentage of your purchase will be donated to AACNS when you shop at BookPeople on 603 North Lamar from November 11th - 17th 2012.
- Shopping events at local stores
- T-shirt sales
- Restaurant Nights
